Composed of SME and Consumer Lenders.

The CLA represents Canada’s innovative lending community. CLA is an aggregated voice of the SME and B2C lending industry that work to support a consumer-friendly environment in Canada. All members are vetted and accredited based on their corporate standards and values. 

The CLA represents all aspects of Canada’s lending ecosystem including: policy, advocacy, standards, and innovation. Our role is to support the highest level of lending in Canada, servicing a wide spectrum of SME and consumer borrowers’ growth requirements. We want to include you in our mandate.

Prospective General Members must agree to support the Canadian Lenders Association (CLA) Purposes and conduct themselves in accordance with the Mission, as may be published from time to time, with the objectives of promoting best practices. Adhering to this guidance and displaying the CLA logo will set Members apart from other lenders in the market who are not members so that your customers will recognize a trusted brand.

Upon receipt of a completed general membership application form and confirmation of payment of the appropriate general membership fee, applications are submitted to the CLA Membership Approval Process.

Membership tiers based on capital under management.

  • Up to 25 million = $2,800.00
  • 25 – 50 million = $3,750.00
  • 50 – 100 million = $7000.00
  • 100 – 250 million = $9,800.00
  • 250 – 500 million = $13,000.00
  • 500 – 750 million = $18,000.00
  • 750 million – 1 billion = $19,000.00
  • 1 billion plus = 20,000.00
Membership benefits:

Composed of those companies that provide services to Lenders.

Examples of Affiliate Members:

  • Corporate finance / Investment banks
  • Law firms / Accounting firms
  • Fintechs

Membership tiers based on annual revenue:

  • Companies with revenue up to 1 million = $1,000.00
  • Companies with 1 million plus = $2,800.00
